For testing/development purpose, you can run a test storefront under a sub domain, 'test'.

For example, your registered domain is www.yoursite.com thus you are able to run http://test.yoursite.com. This does NOT require an additional domain key.

Also, you can run VevoCart under a localhost machine. For example, http://localhost. This doesn't require a domain key at all.
